Social media users outraged as looters take advantage of Storm Emma and break into multiple shops

Social media users reacted with dismay and disbelief after shameful videos of looting in Dublin flooded the internet last night.

The frantic and somewhat frightening scenes apparently occurred after 6pm yesterday afternoon when a group of looters robbed a Lidl store in Foutunestown.

According to our sources a large quantity of grocery items were stolen from the store along with the stores safe.

The disgraceful act which was caught on video and uploaded online shows the group ransacking the store after they used a JCB to rip off its roof.

From there, they then took a JCB to the building and demolished it – taking the safe in the process. Gardai have arrested a total of 9 people as a result of the incident.

Meanwhile a Centra store was also ransacked in the West of the city after a group of looters managed to cut their way through the doors shutters, although it is not known what was taken from the store it is believed a large quantity of food and alcohol items were taken from the store.

Centra also say they are aware of the incident, but they have yet to release any information regarding the robbery.

There has also been another unconfirmed report of a third store being looted in the city, however it is not known where the alleged incident took place.
