Sony’s online woes continue today, as its gaming service remains unavailable for a third day running. Gamers have been unable to access the PlayStation network since early Christmas day, bringing frustration and grief to many new players eager to use their consoles.
A hacker group going by the moniker ‘Lizard Squad’ has claimed it’s behind the cyber attack that has brought both Sony’s and Microsoft’s gaming networks to their knees.
Microsoft’s Xbox Live service, which also went down on Christmas Day, was restored yesterday, though further problems were reported problems later.
Neither company have so far offered an official explanation to the events of the last few days. Sony for instance simply confirmed that its network was down, and that they were working to fix the problem.
