Independent Kerry TD Danny Healy-Rae has claimed that people who don’t eat meat are not hard workers.
Healy-Rae who was responding to the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar’s comments also claims that meat is the only thing that refuels the body.
Speaking on Tuesday Mr Healy-Rae said that those who don’t eat meat don’t know about hard work because if they did they would no full well that a nothing works best for bringing you back is a good slice of meat.
It is believed that Mr Healy-Rae made his comments after the Taoiseach claimed that he gave up meat in order to improve his carbon footprint.
