Time has run out, as Storm Brian is now upon us. Torrential rain and gale force winds are forecast for the next 48 hours, prompting Met Eireann to issue several weather warnings.
A status orange wind warning will come into effect for southwestern coastal counties on Saturday, with wind speeds of up to 130km/h likely across counties Mayo, Galway, Clare, Kerry, Cork, Waterford and Wexford.
Elsewhere, a status yellow weather warning for rain is in effect today for counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Waterford.
Citizens are advised to remain indoors until the storm passes, to avoid possible injury or death.
