Storm Callum: Winds of up to 130km/h batter the country as Orange Weather Warning remains




Ireland is currently witnessing its first storm of autumn 2018 in the form of Storm Callum.

Met Eireann has issued an Orange weather warning to cover Cork, Kerry, Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath, and Waterford.

Strong winds are expected to reach speeds of up to 130km/h.

The storm started around 1am this mornimg and saw winds picking up across the country but especially in the South West of the country moving northwards.

It’s understood that the storm could cause serious flooding along south and west coasts later today.

People are advised to stay out of harm’s way until the inclement weather subsides.
