The country’s largest electricity provider the ESB Network have confirmed that there are number of power outages across the country this morning following high winds overnight.
It is has been reported that thousands of homes and businesses in counties Meath, Dublin, Kildare and Donegal, have been left without power this morning due the high winds caused by Storm Emma which has battered the country over the past 24 hours.
In a announcment on their website the ESB say they are currently reviewing the situation and they hope to get repair crews to the affected areas as soon as possible.
The electricity provider also reminded the public in the affected to regions to remain patient as it may take sometime to address the ongoing issues due to the prolonged spell of bad weather.
They added customers should check their website for further updates as they will be posted throughout the day on Friday.
