Storm Frank: Gale force winds blow the roof off of a Dublin apartment complex

As Storm Frank battered the country, the roof of an apartment block in Clondalkin, Dublin was blown away by gale force winds this afternoon. Crews from Tallaght Fire Station attended the scene at the Aras na Cluaine apartments.

No injuries were sustained in the incident. The apartment block has been cordoned off until the building can be confirmed as structurally sound.

Aras na Cluaine is a development of 198 apartments spread over three separate blocks located on the Nangor Road beside the M50. The complex is located just outside the village of Clondalkin.

Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted pictures from the scene showing a portion of the roof ripped from the top floor of the apartment complex.
