Met Eireann has warned that the tail end of Hurricane Oscar is likely to strike Ireland over the weekend.
The national forecaster predicts widespread rain and blustery rain towards Friday evening and into Saturday morning, lasting most of the day.
Further weather reports over the next 72 hours will confirm the course of the storm, which is currently on a north-easterly course across the Atlantic.
