Student nurses and midwives in their fourth year will receive a wage increase which will come into effect from next month.
The pay rise was announced after the Landsdowne Road Agreement and is set to see wages increase from €6.49/€7.49 an hour to €9.48 an hour.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Association (INMO) have said that this action will help to keep more graduates in the Irish Health System.
