A 22-year-old, who died at University Limerick has been named locally as Rachael Hogan from Castletroy, Rachael who became ill at around lunchtime yesterday collapsed whilst she was attending a lecture.
A doctor and paramedics were on the scene within minutes and Rachael was taken to hospital. However, she could not be resuscitated.
Students’ union president Emma Porter said: “It is an absolute tragedy to lose someone so young. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this terrible time.
“We would also like to remind all our students of the support services available to them on campus to help them in this stressful time.
