The United States Supreme Court has approved President Trump’s ban on transgender individuals serving in the country’s military.

President Trump unveiled his plans for a ban of transgenders openly serving in various capacities in the US military in Summer 2017, but this was delayed by a number of successful legal challenges in liberal dominated federal courts.

The Supreme Court however, which since President Trump’s successful nomination of conservative judges Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, has taken a sharp turn to the right, approved President Trump’s ban.

The move undoes former President Barack Obama’s policy permitting transgender troops to serve openly in the military in 2016 and has been condemned by LGBTTQQIAAP organisations and activists.
