Survey finds 1 in 3 of us check our phones first thing when we wake up

A recent survey has found that almost 30% of people who are in relationships check their phone first thing when they wake up, before they kiss their partner.

The survey also found that 69% of the population get annoyed by friends who browse through their phone whilst they are having a conversation. Amongst other smartphone habits that annoy the majority of the Irish public are listed as follows: taking and sharing pictures of food on social media (35%); people bumping into you because they’re distracted by their phone (33%); playing music loudly in public (24%), and the ‘selfie’ (23%).

The recent survey also found that 1 in 5 of us feel guilty about constantly using our phones, with 22% of the public saying they’d wish they weren’t so heavily reliant on their phone.
