The Taoiseach Enda Kenny had called for a national debate on the subject of pornography, claiming the material is corrupting young minds.
Mr Kenny’s comments after he recently attended the launch of a new helpline that specialises in helping victims of crime.
When speaking about the subject of sexual assault, Mr Kenny said he believes “lads mags” is having a major influence on younger people.
The Taoiseach also said it was the right time for a national conversation around the issue, explaining “There’s clearly an issue that needs to be addressed.” “Young minds are in some cases being corrupted and tainted by an avalanche of this material.”
