Taoiseach confirms property tax will not increase in 2019




The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has confirmed that property taxes will not increase in 2019.

Speaking in the Dáil today, Mr Varadkar said that any increase wouldn’t take effect until 2020 at the earliest.

Mr Varadkar who also confirmed that the new system would be based on a band system and that any increase would be modest at best.

The Taoiseach’s comments come as recent reports suggested that property taxes could be increased this year.

It is believed that the increase of taxes is tied to the increase in property prices.
