Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, said today that the date of the upcoming election “will be revealed in a very public fashion”.
The Taoiseach said that the upcoming election was one of the most “crucial” in many years and that voters should opt to support a government that is set on “making work pay” or else an alternative option that will take the country in a “different direction”.
While Mr Kenny admitted that there is a date in mind for the election, he declined to reveal any specifics.
Mr Kenny said he will reveal the date in a “very public fashion” but declined to say whether that would be in the Dail or otherwise.
The Taoiseach also confirmed that Fine Gael will cut the top rate of USC by at least 1pc in the budget if they are successfully re-elected into government following the election.
