Taoiseach to visit Canadian/US border later today In order to see if such a process could be implemented on Irish/UK border




The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has revealed that he is to visit the Canadian/ US border later today in order to see how it operates.

It is believed Mr Varadkar, who is currently on a three-day state visit to Canada, will visit the border in order to see if it the process between the two countries would be viable between the North and the South once Brexit is implemented.

The Taoiseach who is strongly against implementing a hard border between the countries, said that he was taking the opportunity to see if passport checks and customs checks could be beneficial.

He also added that any information is an advantage given the lengthy debate on the issue expected in the coming months.
