The Government will have an extra €800m to spend in the upcoming budget it has been revealed.

The news comes as latest figures from the summer economic statement showed that the state will have spending package of €3.4bn.

Although the Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe will most likely be reluctant to spend heavily in 2019 given the ongoing uncertainties in both the Irish and European economies.

It has been widely speculated that a number of tax breaks for low and middle income earners could be implemented this October.

However Minister Donohoe has previously warned that although some changes could be made in October’s budget, the government will still remain focused on providing a stable budget that will be beneficial, but conservative.
