It maybe one of Ireland’s oldest company’s and one the nations favourite crisps, but the Tayto brand will now be exclusively owned by a German company after its founder Ray Coyle decided to sell his shares earlier this afternoon.

Tayto was produced by Largo Foods since 2006 after Coyle, one of Ireland’s leading businessmen bought the brand from original owners C&C for €68m. However Largo Foods which currently owns King, Hunky Dory and Perri along with Tatyo will continue to operate until 2017 before Intersnack will take full control of production.
