Team Ireland’s medal total has increased to 22 at Special Olympics




21 March 2015; Special Olympics Ireland unveiled the 88 athletes selected to compete at the 2015 World Games which are taking place in Los Angeles this summer. The Special Olympics is in now in its fifth day.

A total of seven medals have been won today in table tennis, athletics and equestrian.

88 Irish competitors are taking part in the Special Olympics being held in Los Angeles.
According to Brian O’ Callaghan from Special Olympics Ireland, there may be more medals to come.

“We got another seven medals today, four gold, one silver and two bronze. So they’re doing really
well just now and more to come tomorrow hopefully. Tomorrow we’re heading for golf, badminton, basketball and bowling. There’s so much going on”.

The Special Olympics will continue until Sunday, August 2nd.
