Temperatures set to dip below freezing tonight, as a cold spell approaches

Ireland has enjoyed relatively mild weather in recent weeks, with temperatures reaching 12C on Christmas Day.

That’s all set to change though, as a cold spell is making its way here, with temperatures of -1 and -2C possible tonight.

Daytime temperatures will reach 9C at times, with dry and cloudy conditions prevalent.

The outlook is for a mostly dry and cool weekend, with temperatures reaching 10C in southern areas, 5-9C elsewhere, and a few bright spells.
