AIB will be laying off about 150 people across Ireland, it has emerged this evening.
It is understood that the staff will be lost through voluntary redundancies across the bank’s retail and business banking sections.
The exact figure of job losses has not been finalized, but it is believed it will not exceed 150 staff.
Representatives from the Financial Services Union (FSU) have said they are ‘concerned’ about the move, specially when taking into account that AIB is now a profitable entity.
