Terrifying: Dublin family abducted in tiger kidnapping

Two women were abducted from their home in a terrifying tiger kidnapping in Dublin this morning.

The two women were taken from their home at Gracefield Road in the Artane area at approximately 5am this morning in a white or silver Volkswagen Caddy with a partial 09-D registration number. They were found bound and tied in a van in Co Meath following the incident.

The male occupant of the house was forced to go to work at his job in a cash and transit company and hand over a “substantial sum of money” for their return. The exchange happened in Corballis Road Business Park near Dublin Airport.

Armed Gardai were quick to the scene at Dublin Airport this morning and reported that the incident ended after approximately 90 minutes.

The Gardai are appealing for the public’s assistance in respect of suspicious activity in a number of specific locations between the hours of 8pm on Wednesday December 2 2015 to 8am December 3 2015. In a statement they asked for information regarding the following:

“Any suspicious activity between the Artane Roundabout, Gracefield Road and its environs.

“Any suspicious activity in respect of a 09D Volkswagon Caddy Silver/White at Gracefield Road, Artane, Chesnut Grove, Dunboyne or between those locations.

“Gardaí are also appealing for information on a small white box type van which was parked in the vincinity of Corballis Road Business Park, Dublin Airport between 7am and 8.30am on todays date.”
