According to reports in the US the legendary boxer Jake LaMotta has sadly passed away aged 95.
LaMotta who was portrayed on the big screen by Robert De Niro in the 1980 movie Raging Bull, sadly passed away due to complications with pneumonia.
The news of the legendary boxers death was confirmed by his wife, Denise Baker, who told entertainment website TMZ that her husband died in a nursing home after his condition rapidly deteriorated in recent days.
Baker said: “I just want people to know, he was a great, sweet, sensitive, strong, compelling man with a great sense of humour, with eyes that danced.”
Although his portrayal by De Niro in Raging Bull was met with critical acclaim, LaMotta was best remembered for his impressive record of 83 wins out of his 106 professional bouts.
