There will be a major change for motorists in the UK over the next 22 years as the British Government are reportedly set to announce new proposals that will see a ban put in place that will put an end to the sale of all petrol and diesel fueled cars from 2040.
The latest eco-friendly proposal comes as the Government have announced plans to reduce its green house gases and improve air quality in an effort to stop pollution and greatly improve public health.
Although the move will take over 20 years to implement the use of fuel powered cars will almost be eradicated as electric powered cars will be given greater focus as the Government will provide extra funding that will encourage local council authorities to provide charging points in their regions.
Under the new proposals the Government will also give permission to local authorities that will see them charge levies on the drivers of diesel vehicles on the most polluted roads from 2020 onwards
The latest proposal which will surely recieve widespread criticism comes after the French Government approved a similar plan that will see fuel powered cars being eradicated over the next 20 years.
It is not yet known if the system will be introduced here but if other countries across the EU and indeed the world introduce a similar plan the Irish Government cmay well have to comply in order to reduce its emissions.
