The mother of the late Dolores O’Riordan says her daughter was Pro Life and has asked people to vote No

The mother of the late rockstar Dolores O’Riordan as come out asking people to vote No to abortion for any reason whatsoever up to 12 weeks.

The Rocker’s mother spoke at last week’s Rally for Life in Dublin’s Merrion Sq and also spoke to local media in the family’s native Limerick.

Dolores’ mother said that her daughter, Dolores, was Pro Life and that all the rest of her family is Pro Life also.

She is said to have quoted Dolores, who said:
“It’s not good for women to go through an abortion and have something living sucked out of their bodies. It belittles women. Even though some women say, ‘Oh I don’t mind to have one’, every time a woman has an abortion, it just crushes her self esteem smaller, smaller and smaller”.

Mrs O’Riordan finished by saying that her own family and her extended family are all voting No and she politely asked people vote No on Friday.

Next Friday, the country will be asked whether we agree yes or no with abortion for any reason up to 12 weeks.

Currently the Eighth Amendment is the only protection unborn Irish babies have from abortion.

Polls open at 7am. This week will see the biggest live broadcast debate of the abortion referendum take place on PrimeTime on RTE One on Tuesday at 9:30pm.
