The mother of the late Donal Walsh has come out asking people to vote No to abortion

Donal Walsh, who was interviewed with Brendan O’Connor a couple of years ago, became on the bravest young men to grace the country.

Donal tragically passed away from his brave battle with cancer – but not before he managed to convey the message of how important every life is and he was grateful for his life and how he enjoyed every moment of it.

Now his mother, Emla Walsh has come out politely asking people to vote No to abortion in next Friday’s referendum.

Elma said:
“Seeing how Donal fought for his lif and his right to live it, I could not in conscience, given what’s being suggested, vote for removal of the 8th Amendment. It protects mothers and respects the right to unborn babies to experience life, however short.”

Next Friday, the country will be asked whether we agree yes or no with abortion for any reason up to 12 weeks.

Currently the Eighth Amendment is the only protection unborn Irish babies have from abortion.

Polls open at 7am. This week will see the biggest live broadcast debate of the abortion referendum take place on PrimeTime on RTE One on Tuesday at 9:30pm.
