The short, or perhaps resigned memory of the electorate: Fianna Fail is now Ireland’s most popular political formation

poll

When it comes to the game of popularity charades among political entities in Ireland, the choice is starkly short. This is perhaps aided by the apparent lack of real change so prevalent among the majority.

A new opinion poll has found that Fianna Fail is now Ireland’s most popular party, ranking three points ahead of its main ‘rival’, Fine Gael.

The results show that Fianna Fáil commands a 29 points slice of the popularity pie. Fine Gael remains at 26, while Sinn Féin is down two points to 13. Support for Independents (excluding the Independent Alliance) has dropped four points to seven, and The Green Party has risen two points, to four.
