The family of a two-year old boy who fell from a sixth-floor hotel balcony in Limerick on Saturday is praying for his recovery at his bedside at Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

The boy has been named locally as Neil Shanahan, from Faranshone in Limerick city. His parents are named as Michael and Martina and are said to be keeping a vigil at the 3-yr-old’s bedside since the tragic incident.

It’s understood the family were in the hotel for a coffee morning taking place at the time of the tragic incident. The boy fell from the 6th floor of the hotel and was rushed to hospital in Limerick.

He has since been transferred to Temple Street in Dublin.
