When The X-Files first aired back in 1993, few would have predicted that the show would still be going strong 15 years later.
Yet, Mulder and Scully’s pursuit for the truth out there keeps gaining traction with viewers, it seems.
It has now been confirmed that the hugely popular series will return for an 11th series, spanning 10 brand new episodes.
The classic cast of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson is said to have signed up to the new series already, as has its creative and driving force, Chris Carter.
Scheduling conflicts mean that filming has not yet begun. The new X-Files are expected to air sometime in 2018.
