The truth is out there: Unidentified bright lights spotted over Cork

There was a dazzling show over the Cork skyline last Thursday, when a series of bright electric blue lights were spotted flying over Cork at around midnight.

The official explanation is that the lights may have been ‘fireballs’, which are usually meteorites burning up in the Earth’s atmosphere.

Thousands of meteorites get incinerated in our atmosphere on a daily basis, many of them during the day when we can’t see them.

Whether the blue lights over Cork were indeed meteorites, or scout units for an advanced civilization scoping out the Cork metropolitan area in preparation for an invasion remains to be seen.

Watch the skies!
