If like you work or even live near the US Embassy in Ballsbridge, you’ll have noticed queues longer than a Christmas shopping queue on Christmas Eve.
Thousands of college students from across the country and made their way to the Ballsbridge-based embassy in an effort to secure their J1 work/holiday visa in time to travel.
This is the first year that students are required to apply to a sponsor agency and secure work before applying for a visa.
The American Work Adventures agency has put a spanner in the works for around 100 students as they are not able to confirm work for the students.
The US Embassy has said it is engaging with other sponsors to ensure that those affected can participate in the program.
