There could soon be further disruption ahead as Irish Rail and School Bus drivers vote in favour of industrial action should Bus Eireann staff reject latest pay offer

There could be further disruption ahead for commuters in the coming weeks as staff at Irish Rail and school bus drivers have agreed to undertake industrial action in support of Bus Eireann staff.

However the agreed industrial action will occur if SIPTU members at Bus Eireann reject the latest pay proposal offered by the Labour Recommendation Commission.

It is believed there could be all out strike action at Bus Eireann and Irish Rail if the latest ballot submitted to Bus Eireann SIPTU members is rejected.

Speaking about the support for industrial action SIPTU Organiser, Paul Cullen, said: “Our members in Irish Rail voted by 73% to 27% in favour of industrial action while those employed as school bus drivers by Bus Éireann voted by 72% to 28% in favour.”
