Presidential candidate Peter Casey has thanked his supporters for their support over the course of his campaign.
In a message released via twitter, Mr Casey said the following: “A big thank you to the 342,727 people who came out to vote for me. Your voice has been heard and this conversation has only started.”
Casey who finished runner up to President Higgins with 23.3% of the public vote released the message as he considers his political future.
Mr Casey who is said to be thinking about forming a new political party, previously stated that the Irish people are clearly frustrated with already there and his vote proves that.
