Thousands come out in force calling for a dedicated cardiac unit at University Hospital Waterford

Several thousand have lined the streets of Waterford City this afternoon in protest over the lack of cardiac care at University Hospital Waterford.

In a demonstration organised by ‘Health Equality for the South East’ campaign groups came out in force to call for a dedicated cardiac unit at the hospital.

Protestors have called for a Second Cath lab at the hospital and have voiced their anger over the fact patients have to travel to Cork for treatment.
