There was a major show of support across the country recently as thousands of people joined together and held protest marches in wake of the recent CervicalCheck scandal.

In what has been described as a major show of solidarity women representing the Standing4Women campaign group took to the streets in cities and towns across the country, to call for better healthcare for women.

Amongst the protests women from counties Louth, Meath, Kerry, Cork, Waterford and many others joined forces not only to highlight the issue, but to show their support to the women affected by the controversy.

The protests come after it was recently revealed that a total of 18 women died as a result of incorrect smear test results, whilst a further 209 women were affected by the scandal.
