Threat of Atlantic superstorm now downgraded, as potentially dangerous weather systems dissipate over the ocean

Ireland has dodged a meteorological bullet, as the threat of an Atlantic superstorm hitting our shores has now been downgraded.

Weather observers feared that the remnants of Hurricanes Maria and Lee might have collided into each other, combine into a powerful superstorm, and head east, where Ireland stood first in line to be battered and bruised.

This doomsday prediction will now not come to pass, as low pressure is likely to gobble up what’s left of the weather systems, making them dissipate over faraway Atlantic waters.

Some unsettled weather will still hit Ireland over the weekend, but it will be a far cry from the potentially devastating consequences of a superstorm.
