Gardaí in Dublin have confirmed that three men have been arrested after a number of handguns posted from the US were seized.
The arrests come after officers from the Special Crimes Operations branch intercepted the guns which were due to be delivered to a number of addresses in Dublin.
It is believed the three men were arrested following a number of searches in Stepaside and Carrickmines in Dublin and Newcastle in Co Dublin .
Gardaí say the men, aged 26, 27 and 38, respectively are being detained at separate Garda Stations in Dublin.
