Gardai in Co Clare have confirmed three men have been arrested following a stabbing incident in Kilkee in the early hours of this morning.
The arrests come after a 25-year-old man died as a result of his injuries he sustained in the incident which occurred in the Marian Estate area of the town at approximately 1.15am this morning.
Gardai say the injured man was quickly rushed to University Hospital Limerick with serious stab wounds but sadly he died a short time later.
It is understood two men aged in their early 20s man, were arrested in connection with the incident and they are currently being detained at Kilrush Garda Station.
Meanwhile a third man, also aged in his 20s, was arrested in the West Clare area this afternoon and is currently being questioned at Ennis Garda Station.
