There very well maybe a blip in the current good weather spell as Met Eireann have warned there may be some potentially heavy thunder showers over the weekend.

According to the National Forecaster, the country will experience changeable conditions over the coming days as heavy showers are expected to arrive by Saturday.

Although today Thursday will remain relatively dry with prolonged sunny spells expected throughout, Met Eireann say thundery and damp conditions could arrive by Friday evening and could stretch into Saturday afternoon.

The expected change in the weather will come after the country recently experienced glorious weather conditions with temperatures topping 26C in some places.

Met Éireann say that although temperatures will drop a little on Saturday, it is expected to be relatively warm with highs between 16-21C expected.

However conditions are thought to improve by Sunday with prolonged spells of sunshine expected throughout the day.
