The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission will begin an investigation into the sales of tickets for gigs and sporting events.
The investigation follows a huge outcry from the public, attempting to purchase tickets for live events.
What is occurring more often is, the event is sold-out within seconds, yet remains ‘on-sale’ on official secondary sites at astronomical prices.
The latest U2 gig announcement saw tickets rising to €1,000 within a day on sites such as Seatwave.ie
Fans have had enough at forking-out for live events and are thouroughly behind the investigation.
Ticketing services, promotors and Venues will all be investigated.
