Portuguese international footballer Cristiano Ronaldo will move to Juventus from Real Madrid in a deal worth €105m it has been confirmed this evening.

Ronaldo who moved to the Madrid nine years ago in a then world record fee of €94m fee, will officially move to Turin after both teams came to an agreement this week.

The deal which has been rumoured to have been in the works for a number of weeks, comes just over a week after Ronaldo’s involvement in FIFA World Cup with Portugal was ended at the hand of Uruguay.

In a statement today Ronaldo said he agreed to the move as he felt the time was right for a change in his career.

Meanwhile his former employers Real Madrid thanked him for his services over the past nine years and regarded him as one of the great symbols of the game in recent years.

Ronaldo’s move could now prompt a flurry of activity in the transfer market as Real who are known for their Galactico signings could turn their attentions to signing a major star to replace the Portuguese international.

Both Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and PSG’s Neymar have been linked with moves to the Bernabeu Stadium in recent months.
