The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has confirmed that talks over renewing the current Confidence and supply agreement will begin next week.
Mr Varadkar who is eager to complete a deal in the coming weeks ahead, confirmed the news saying teams representing both parties are expected to meet next week.
It is believed that both parties are keen to avoid the prospect of an early General Election given the current Brexit negotiation process in the UK.
However Fianna Fáil have said any deal will not be rushed and that certain criteria must be fulfilled in order for the party to continue to support the current Fine Gael led minority government.
It is expected that teams from both parties will begin discussions early next week and hope to conclude a deal within the next couple of weeks.
