A popular household brand has confirmed that they will be changing the name of one of its most popular products after receiving a number of complaints that suggest that their branding was sexist.
The tissue manufacturer Kleenex confirmed that it is to drop the name mansize from its brand after they received complaints on social media which informed them that the use of the name was sexist.
Kleenex who has been manufacturing tissues since 1956 said they will now use the branding of ‘Extra Large’ for the product.
In a statement released on Thursday, the company said they will change the name in order to provide more gender equality for consumers who purchase their products.
They also added that the mansize branding was never intended to cause offence, but they have decided to re-brand the product due to a high number of complaints.
