Both Drogheda and the Clogherhead Coast Guard Units have been praised for their efforts today after they managed to rescue three people from the River Boyne last night.
The dedicated rescue men and women were hailed as heroes today after they thankfully managed to the rescue the three individuals from a small boat which had overturned near the mouth of the river in Mornington Co Meath.
It is understood the rescue teams arrived at the scene quickly after a member of the public alerted them to the incident which occurred at approximately 8pm on Monday evening.
Reports also say the three individuals were found without life jackets, when they were discovered alongside the upturned boat.
They were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, suffering from hypothermia.
