The Tourism Towns Awards 2015 were announced by Failte Ireland and here’s the top 10 of “highly commended towns”, revealed today at the National Tidy Town Awards:
Best Small Town
- Adare, Co. Limerick
- Ardmore, Co. Waterford
- Clonakilty, Co. Cork
- Kenmare, Co. Kerry
- Lismore, Co. Waterford
- Sneem, Co. Kerry
Best Large Town
- Cobh, Co. Cork
- Killarney, Co. Kerry
- Kilkenny, Co. Kilkenny
- Tralee, Co. Kerry
The winners were shortlisted after a series of inspections made by unannounced visitors, and an overall winner is to be announced on November 25th. Both the “Best Large Town” and “Best Small Town” will receive the accolade of Ireland’s Top Tourism Town, along with financial support towards maximizing their potential for tourism.
Nor Kinsale nor Wesport, last year’s winners, were part of this year’s shortlist.
