A 57 year old woman has tragically died after she was blown over by the wind from a jet on a plane near an airport in the Dutch Caribbean territory of Sint Maarten.
Local reports say the woman believed to be a New Zealand national was killed after she hit her head as a plane was taking off from Princess Juliana International Airport which is located directly across from the popular Maho Beach on the island.
According to a number of eyewitnesses said the woman was blown over even though she was clinging onto a fence as the plane was taking off.
It is then believed that she was blown over by the tail wind which resulted in her hitting her on pavement.
Local police say they are investigating the incident and they are currently providing counselling assistance to her family.
