According to reports this evening an 8 year old boy is in critical condition in hospital after he was involved in a road traffic incident in Co Meath this afternoon.
It is believed the young boy was struck by a car while crossing a busy junction on the Kells Road near the Navan Fire Station at approximately 3pm this afternoon.
Gardai say the boy was quickly taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda were he currently remains in critical condition.
It is understood the driver of the car was uninjured in the incident.
