Tragic double fatal stabbing believed to be the result of domestic incident.

Angelique (27) and Cornelius Billing (44) both died of fatal stab wounds in the town of Kildysart, Co Clare on Wednesday night.

The first Gardai to attend the scene of the double killing were in the area attending a call to a fire in a local shop.  Angelique, screaming and bloodied emerged from a building nearby with a young child, Gardai rushed to her assistance and alerted emergency services.  Sadly Ms Billing died from her injuries. Upon entering the building Ms Billing had fled from Gardai discovered the injured Cornelius who had also suffered stab wounds.   Despite the efforts of attending Gardai to treat Cornelius he also died from his injuries.  A local Doctor had been called to the scene and pronounced both victims dead.

The couple believed to be from South Africa have two children, Pamela (4) and Cornie (2) who were at the family home at the time of the incident and were removed from the scene by responding members of the emergency services.

Gardai are treating the deaths as a Domestic dispute that ended tragically and are not seeking a third party in connection with the deaths.
