Gardaí in Cork have sadly confirmed that a man aged in his 90s has died following a road traffic incident on Tuesday afternoon.
It is understood the elderly gentleman who was struck by a vehicle on the Blackrock Road, near Ballintemple Post Office, at approximately 2.30pm on Tuesday afternoon, died due to the extent of his injuries at Cork University Hospital last night.
Although Gardai have already spoken to the driver of the vehicle, they do say they are appealing for witnesses to come forward and contact them.
