There was some tragic news anounced in the past few hours as Gardaí in Co Donegal have confirmed that an elderly woman has died following a house fire.
The elderly woman believed to be aged in her 90s was sadly killed after her home in the lilies area of Buncrana went on fire shortly after 4pm this afternoon.
Gardai say the woman’s body has since been transferred to a nearby hospital were a post-mortem examination will take place.
Meanwhile a full forensic examination is due to take place at the property.
